Make sure you check out stand TGD11 at the Knitting & Stitching Show in Alexandra Palace this week, where Rowan and its partner retailer Lady Sew and Sew will be displaying the stunning autumn/winter collections.
You can see collections and both stories from Rowan Knitting & Crochet Magazine 62; ‘Kinship’ and ‘Dawn till Dusk’. Kinship is a story inspired by Rowan’s original roots, housed in a beautiful old woollen mill and the surrounding landscape of the stunning Yorkshire Dales. Dawn till Dusk is inspired by knitwear that can take you from the office to drinks or slouchy layer pieces that can be worn for an afternoon stroll or as a cover-up over evening wear.
You can experience their delicious new yarns, from the three ranges released this winter: Cashmere Tweed, Valley Tweed and Alpaca Soft DK. All three have accompanying patterns from their pool of talented designers.
The Cashmere Tweed Collection is inspired by the styles and patterning of Scandinavian and Icelandic knits. Designed by Martin Storey and featuring his eye-catching colour work and simple, yet elegant shapes. Similarly the Timeless DK collection uses classic and clean silhouettes to suit any wardrobe. Keep an eye out for Martin at the show, who will be around to talk about some of the designs this season.
The Valley Tweed Collection was designed using the brand new Valley Tweed yarn, sourced and spun near the home of Rowan in Huddersfield, Yorkshire. The rustic and timeless garments have a distinctly British vibe and there will be the opportunity to meet the designer Lisa Richardson at the show.
Rowan is also running a competition each day of the show. You’ll win a goodie bag with some yarn and a brochure if you’re one of the first five people to visit the Rowan stand, find Charlotte, and say the following: “Knitting is my life, without Rowan I would cry!”
Patterns on display at the show include this stunning Hutton wrap pattern by Lisa Richardson, worked in Rowan Kidsilk Haze and Felted Tweed DK, along with Lisa’s Midnight crochet sweater and cowl.
